About ACINDES
ACINDES (Association for Health Research & Development), is an international private, non-profit, academic institution, founded in 1985.
ACINDES owns the rights for translation to Spanish and Portuguese and publishing of Diabetes Care, Clinical Infections Diseases (CID), Archives in Internal Medicine, The Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery and Ophthalmology Times International.
Continuing Medical Education
ACINDES is currently publishing several continuing medical education (CME), programs, such us PREP, the program of American Academy of Pediatrics, (AAP), including the journal Pediatrics in Review (PIR), distributed in Latin America and Spain, and other programs on different topics, such us Cardiovascular Medicine, Urology, Diabetes, Osteoporosis, Surgical Infections, Pain, and Wasting Syndrome in HIV/AIDS.
Experts' Meetings, Guidelines, Consensus, Evidence-based Medicine
ACINDES organizes international meetings, aimed at developing recommendations for medical practice, including consensus conferences and symposia on HIV/AIDS, respiratory tract infections, febrile neutropenia, pain and inflammation, menopause, osteoporosis, RSV infections, cardiovascular prevention, diabetes, hypertension, asthma, obesity and surgical infections. These meetings count with opinion leaders from Latin America, Asia (Japan, South-East Asia), Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and the United States. The resulting material is published by Waverly Hispanica, usually as supplements of high-quality journals, in various languages (Spanish, Portuguese, English, Japanese, Chinese, and others).
AHA's ECC Programs
Since 1999, Waverly Hispanica is the exclusive publisher for the Spanish and Portuguese translations of all the Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC) materials from the AHA, including the recently published International ECC Guidelines 2000.
